Governance

The EDCTP programme is governed by the General Assembly of the EDCTP Association, the legal structure for the implementation of the second EDCTP programme (2014-2024). The Board of the EDCTP Association is entrusted by the General Assembly with the management of the Association and the oversight of the Secretariat. The Scientific Advisory Committee is the principal advisory body to EDCTP. The programme is implemented by the Secretariat.

General Assembly of the EDCTP Association

The principal responsibility of the General Assembly is to ensure that all necessary activities are undertaken to achieve the statutory objectives of EDCTP and that its resources are properly and efficiently managed. The General Assembly entrusts the management of the Association and the oversight of the Secretariat to the EDCTP Association Board.

Scientific Advisory Committee

The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) is an advisory panel of independent scientific experts from Europe and Africa. Working with the Secretariat, the SAC develops the strategic framework for EDCTP and advises the General Assembly on technical and scientific matters relating to the EDCTP programme. The SAC is not involved in the review of applications submitted to EDCTP calls for proposals.
